Step inside and explore one of central London’s royal residences and the childhood home of Queen Victoria.

Kensington Palace boasts exquisite Jacobean architecture dating back to 1605, acres of manicured gardens, and a world-famous Orangery, and much more.

This incredible building is the official residence of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children, as well as a long line of Royals before them. Explore Queen Caroline’s Cabinet of Curiosities, the King’s Staircases, and Queen Mary’s State Apartments.

Did you know:

  • Mary II was a keen collector of Chinese Porcelain, a 1697 inventory documented that she owned over 800 items
  • Composer Handel was invited to the palace to perform for King George II, who was such a fan that he gave Handel British citizenship. Handel was originally from Germany, like the King himself.
  • Queen Victoria, the second-longest reigning monarch, spent her childhood in the palace
  • A book of original Leonardo da Vinci drawings was miraculously found in the palace in 1778 and sent to Windsor Castle
  • During the Great War in 1914, Princess Louise allowed injured soldiers to rest and recover in her private apartments

The Pavilion 

The Kensington Palace Pavilion is the perfect place for a relaxed bite to eat overlooking the beautiful grounds. There’s a host of tempting food available, including classic afternoon tea - a must when visiting a Royal Palace.

Sunken Gardens

Green-fingered types won’t want to miss this impressive area. It was planted in 1908 and displays an abundance of blooms all year round, and if you’re visiting between April and October, you’ll be rewarded with an exotic array of flowers. Among the 30 acres of land and gardens, the Sunken Gardens adds to the quiet tranquillity of Kensington Palace and is the perfect place to take a moment away from the crowds.

Top tip:

There is a wide range of tours for visitors with disabilities including British Sign Language tours and Describer Tours for the partially sighted. Booking is recommended up to two weeks in advance to visit the King and Queen’s State Apartments and Victoria Revealed.

Fantastica - para mi la targeta the london pass fue un acierto sobre todo la combinacion con la targeta de transporte porque yo fui a londres sin saber ingles y me fue de gran ayuda porque fui ha todos los sitios sin mingun problema y sin tener que saber nada de ingles llegaba a los sitios enseñaba la targeta y sin ningun problema entraba y con la targeta de transporte tambien fenomenal porque podia coger el metro los autobuses y el tren que me llevo ha windsor yo la recomiendo.
